Azerbaijan and Afghanistan discussed cooperation in the sphere of e-Government

According to the Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan and Afghanistan discussed problems of cooperation in the sphere of electronic government.

According to the ministry, discussions were started within the third meeting of the working group on cooperation between Azerbaijan and Afghanistan in the field of ICT held in Baku.

That’s why, the delegation of Afghanistan headed by the deputy minister of Communication and Information Technologies of the country Aimal Marzhan is in Baku.

The working group includes representatives of ministries of Communication and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan and Afghanistan, UNDP and Azerbaijan International Development Agency (AIDA).

Main questions included in the agenda of the working group’s meeting were studying of opportunities of Azerbaijan’s participation in development of ICT in Afghanistan, definition of directions of cooperation, and also projects which can be realized in Afghanistan.

Investment possibilities in the sector of ICT in Afghanistan and organization of trainings within the IT-university founded in Azerbaijan were discussed too.

Projects of the Azerbaijani IT company SINAM were submitted in the meeting as well. The minister of Communication and Information Technologies of Afghanistan Amirzai Sanguin expressed interest in use of the electronic map GoMap (developed by SINAM) as a platform for development of the local map for Afghanistan.
